A Rochester man is being held on a murder charge after shooting a man to death near Old Forge in the Adirondacks.

New York State Police say the shooting happened on September 5th in the Town of Webb in Herkimer County. They say 43-year-old Stephen Swanton of Rochester got into an argument with two people outside his property, an argument that followed from an earlier argument at a party at another home down the road. During the argument, Swanton allegedly shot 50-year-old Scott Krempler of Patterson, NY, and 55-year-old William Robertello of Oriskany.

Krempler was pronounced dead at the scene and Robertello was treated and released from Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Swanton was charged with second degree murder and attempted murder.
