The Greater New York State Fair wrapped up on Labor Day, but before it ended a Rochester and a Finger-Lakes region food truck tied for top honors in the annual Taste New York Food Truck Competition.
Fair Director Troy Waffner says Ovid’s Silo Food Truck won first prize from a panel of judges. The Meatball Truck from Rochester was the favorite of fairgoers who voted after trying items from 17 food trucks that came from around the state.
Silo Food Truck delivered an item called “Telekinetic Chicken,” a fried drumstick on a bed of purple coconut sticky rice and topped with Korean-style pickles. The Meatball Truck offered up their “Meatball in a Cup.”
