The City of Rochester is counter-suing the Rochester City School District. The countersuit seeks to block a suit filed Monday by the school district. THAT school district suit seeks to block a November referendum on whether the state should take over the district.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren is pushing the referendum, hoping a large “yes” vote by city residents will persuade the state to take action. The school district says there’s no legal basis for the city to hold such a referendum.
