With 116 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Monroe County yesterday and an average positivity rate of four percent, both the Rochester area’s hospital groups are reinstating visitor restrictions.
Rochester Regional Health and UR Medicine will both tighten visitor rules Wednesday morning. Visitors and patients alike must wear masks and will be screened for symptoms of COVID and have their temperature taken on entering a hospital or ambulatory surgical center.
Patients who are positive for COVID may not have visitors with the exception of pediatrics, delivery and end-of-life care. COVID-negative patients may have one visitor at a time. Visitors must be 12 and older.
Obstetrics patients can have a visitor and a support person.
At UR Medicine facilities, patients may have two designated visitors, but only one can visit per day. Covid-positive patients will not be allowed visitors.
