Three private colleges in the Rochester area have joined the SUNY system, the University of Rochester and RIT in switching to online classes because of the coronavirus.
Roberts Wesley College, St. John Fisher College and Nazareth College will all extend their spring breaks while they work out a transition to distance learning. Students will be moved off campus where possible.
So far no public school districts in the Rochester area have followed suit, but the private Allendale-Columbia school says it will switch from classroom teaching to online classes next week in order to avoid spreading the disease. There are no known cases of coronavirus at the school or at any of the colleges.
