Three Rochester-area Assembly members say they aren’t the “Member A” referred two in the court documents charging Assemblyman Joe Errigo with taking a bribe.
Joe Morelle, David Gantt and Harry Bronson have all said they condemn what Errigo is alleged to have done.
Speculation focused on Gantt because he chairs the Assembly Transportation Committee, where the bill Errigo allegedly introduced in return for taking money was sent. But Gantt was absent from the Assembly for much of the session due to illness.
Today he says in a statement that he never supported the bill in question and never supported the people who sought its passage.
Gantt said ““Corruption & Impropriety have no role in state government and I am profoundly disappointed in the behavior of my colleague.”
