The man who shot a Rochester police officer in 2009 has been arrested again, this time for a drug charge according to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
Tyquan Rivera was 14 when he shot officer Anthony DiPonzio in the back of the head on Dayton Street. He was sentenced as a juvenile to three-and-a-half to ten years in prison, and was released in 2016.
Rivera was arrested again in 2017 for a parole violation that sent him back to prison. He was released in February of this year after reaching the maximum amount of time he could be held.
