Rising gasoline prices hit a plateau last week, as the state average dropped by a penny to $2.76 for gallon of unleaded regular.
The Rochester regional average held unchanged at $2.71; Buffalo was also unchanged at $2.71 and Syracuse held at $2.71 as well. These averages are about 25 cents more than they were a year ago.
The federal Energy Information Administration shows gasoline demand remains strong at more than nine million barrels a day as the spring driving season is underway. They’re forecasting prices increases to resume as refiners begin shipping the more expensive summer blend gas to your favorite fill-up spot.
