A motorcycle rider is dead and the occupants of an SUV badly shaken up after a crash on Lake Avenue in Charlotte this morning.
Rochester Police say it happened about 5:15 this morning. A Chevy Suburban was being driven south in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue when a motorcycle coming north suddenly crossed the center line and crashed into the SUV head-on. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The occupants of the SUV weren’t injured.
Police say it doesn’t appear any charges will be filed against the driver of the Suburban. Lake Avenue was closed off both directions from Stone Road to Holcomb Street and traffic was diverted onto Dewey Avenue.
