Video streaming of closing arguments in the Craig Rideout murder trial was abruptly shut down this morning…after the defense apparently complained to Judge Thomas Moran that the camera was left running during a break in the trial. That violated the judge’s order allowing TV and radio coverage of the opening and closing arguments, and he ordered the camera removed.
After some discussion, the TV camera was allowed back in but given to 13 WHAM TV to operate.
The camera was being operated as a pool feed by NBC Dateline, which is planning a show on the Rideout case. There was apparently some miscommunication between the NBC camera crew and the court.
