The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says Laura Rideout has not yet supplied a DNA swab as required by a court order. She was ordered to supply the DNA sample so investigators can match it to a woman’s DNA found on a Diet Coke bottle found in her estranged husband’s basement.
Laura Rideout and her two sons are charged with evidence tampering for trying to clean up blood and other materials in Craig Rideout’s townhouse.
Assistant D-A Tim Prosperi is prosecuting the case and says any additional charges will depend on a Grand Jury.
Court documents say Laura Rideout and her boyfriend bought a tarp and bungee cords at the Hudson Avenue Walmart — the night before Craig Rideout’s body was found wrapped in a tarp with bungee cords in Yates County.
They also bought drain cleaner and a Diet Coke. A Diet Coke bottle was found in Craig Rideout’s basement, along with his blood and bloody clothes.
