Rochester will face FC Motown in the Second Round match at Capelli Sport Stadium.

The 1999 USOC Champions look to make another deep run into the tournament.

The Rochester Rhinos play host to FC Motown on Wednesday, May 17 in the Second Round of the US Open Cup. Kickoff is at 7 pm. The match will be streamed at ussoccer.com.

FC Motown, an amateur team from New Jersey’s Garden State Soccer League, are 12-0 in the GSSL and come to Rochester after defeating New Jersey Copa FC of the NPSL, 2-1, in extra time in the First Round.

Motown is coached by former New York Red Bull, Sacir Hot, and features Franklin Castellanos. Castellanos is best remembered for running rampant on Chelsea FC with the Red Bulls in the International Champions Cup two years ago and featuring on all four of NYRB’s goals.

There is a direct connection between the Rhinos and Motown, as winger Christiano Francois played for FC Motown last season.

“I still speak with some of my former teammates, the coach, and the owner almost every day. We’re very excited to play against one another,” Francois said.

The Rhinos are 20-1-1 in Open Cup opening matches and 15-0-0 all-time against lower league opposition.

The winner of this match will face the winner of lower-league sides GPS Omens (Mass.) and Boston City FC (NPSL) in the Third Round on May 31. With a Rhinos victory, the match will be held here at Capelli Sport Stadium.

Note: Wal Fall was suspended, retroactively, for 1 match after an independent review on his yellow card April 29 against Charlotte. However, his ban does not affect his US Open Cup status. He will be suspended for the May 21 match against Richmond.

All tickets to the match are just $8, with the option to purchase on-field tickets for $20. Order online, visit the Capelli Sport Stadium box office, or call 585-454-KICK.
