Nearly 50 searchers spent another day on Tuesday searching around Joy Road Farms in Sodus for any sign of the missing 14-month-old, Owen Hidalgo-Calderon.

Sheriff Barry Virts said the search is scheduled to resume Wednesday morning.

Earlier in the day, the sheriff said he’s continuing the intensive search for the missing toddler despite cancellation of the Amber Alert by state authorities. He says they will conduct parallel investigations as long as necessary or until evidence indicates a different direction.

Selena Hidalgo-Calderon’s boyfriend, Alberto Reyes, has been charged with evidence tampering after admitting that he partially buried her body on the farm. So far he hasn’t been charged with any other crimes, but the investigation continues. Reyes is a twice-deported illegal alien, and is also being held on an immigration detainer.

Reyes waived a preliminary hearing deputies in Wayne County say he admitted moving the body of his girlfriend from their home to the woods nearby because he was afraid of being deported again.
