Rochester firefighters saved a man who jumped on Monday from the O’Rorke Bridge in Charlotte.
Firefighers say the drawbridge operator called them to report a man had jumped into the Genesee River and was floating towards Lake Ontario. Engine 19 at the Charlotte Firehouse responded with a rescue boat and together with a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office boat pulled the man from the water. He was unconscious but breathing, and was taken to the hospital.
His condition has not been reported yet.
