Two South Carolina TV stations are reporting the discovery of human remains in a wooded area near a subdivision in the town where Chili teenager Brittanee Drexel was last seen 13 years ago. The remains could be connected to her case, but nobody is confirming that yet.
Heavy equipment was digging at the site on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a former person of interest in the Drexel case is being held on an obstruction of justice charge. Police have not said whether this is connected with the discovery of the remains.
Brittanee Drexel was 17 when she vanished while on a Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach 13 years ago.
