Sam Reinhart records a goal and assist in Buffalo’s 3-2 win over the Red Wings.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — – Sam Reinhart had a goal and an assist to help the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win against the Detroit Red Wings at KeyBank Center on Tuesday.
Marcus Johansson also had a goal and an assist and Carter Hutton made 27 saves for the Sabres (25-24-8), who are 3-2-1 in their past six games.
Darren Helm scored twice for Detroit and Jonathan Bernier made 22 saves for Detroit (14-40-4).
Helm gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead when he slipped the rebound of his own shot through Hutton’s pads 27 seconds into the first period.
Conor Sheary tied it 1-1 at 1:03 from the high slot off a pass from Marcus Johansson.
Sheary had a chance to give Buffalo the lead at 1:32 of the second period on a penalty shot attempt after he was hooked on a breakaway but missed the net.
Helm was alone in front when he took Anthony Mantha’s pass from behind the net to make it 2-1 at 7:02.
Rasmus Dahlin left a drop pass for Johansson to tie it 2-2 at 14:59 with a snap shot from the right circle.
Reinhart made it 3-2 Buffalo when he pushed in a loose puck by the edge of Bernier’s right pad 57 seconds into the third period.
Red Wings forward Brendan Perlini sustained a deep laceration to his nose after he was clipped by Sabres defenseman Henri Jokiharju’s skate at 15:16 of the first period and left the game.
