A coalition of Rochester and New York State hospitals is urging Congress not to dump Obamacare without having a replacement plan ready to take its place.

Rochester Regional Healthcare Advocates, the Greater New York Hospital Association and other groups say doing so could bankrupt New York’s hospitals.

The associations say the average operating margin for hospitals across New York is 1.3 percent, the second lowest in the nation and far below the national average of 6.4 percent.

Mary Beth Walker of the Regional Advocates says repealing the Affordable Care Act without an immediate replacement will seriously harm Upstate New York hospitals and their patients.
