SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Rochester Red Wings scored a big win Friday night at NBT Bank Stadium, defeating the Syracuse Mets 7-2 to give Rochester a 3-1 series lead.

RHP Jackson Tetreault got the start on the mound and pitched well through six, allowing two runs but striking out six. He gave up a homerun which accounted for all of Syracuse’s scoring. Tetreault’s May record jumps to 4-0 with Friday’s win.

The Wings went up 2-0 early thanks to a Matt Lipka single and an Andrew Stevenson double.

The Mets tied it up in the fourth off a two-run homer from Mark Vientos, but hits from Tres Barrera and Luis Garcia in the sixth and seventh, respectively, gave Rochester a 5-2 lead.

Barrera shined for Rochester, going three for four at the plate and tallying an RBI and a run, while Adrian Sanchez contributed two hits and one run on a pair of doubles. Joey Meneses smacked his 11th homer of the season in the ninth to put Rochester up by five runs.

The Wings deployed the ‘pen in the seventh, with Murphy, Baldonado, and Fry holding Syracuse scoreless through the last three.

Rochester continues to steal bases with the best of them, notching three in Friday’s win and 52 on the season…good for third in the International League.

Rochester will battle the Mets in Syracuse on Saturday evening at 6:35 p.m. in game five of the series.
