The Bats erupt for 13 runs in a rout of Rochester.
LOUISVILLE, KY. — Despite being hammered 13-6 by the Louisville Bats Sunday afternoon, the Rochester Red Wings still take a 3-game lead over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, for the International League’s wild card spot, when the Wings return home Monday night to face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Lehigh Valley lost to Charlotte, 5-4, on Sunday.
Rochester pitchers Stephen Gonzalves and Mason Melotakis were tagged for 13 run on 10 hits over the first four innings by the Bats, including a 7-run fourth.
Brandon Dixon belted 3 home runs and drove in 7 runs to pace the Bats. Dixon hit a solo shot in the first, a two-run shot in the second and a solo shot in the fourth.
Louisville starter Rookie Davis (3-2) picked up the win despite allowing 5 runs and 6 hits over 6 innings.
Anthony Recker doubled and singled, scoring two runs for the Red Wings. Niko Goodrum smacked a 2-run homer in the third, and ByungHo Park connected for a 2-run homer in the sixth for Rochester.
Despite the loss, Rochester ended the season 4-2 against Louisville.

Goodrum became the first Red Wing to drive in six runs since D’Angelo Jimenez on Aug. 3, 2010 at Charlotte.
