Rochester plates 2 runs in the 7th inning to notch a 2-1 win over the Tides.

NORFOLK, VA. — The Rochester Red Wings ended their 7-day road trip with a 2-1 victory over the Norfolk Tides on Sunday afternoon in Tidewater.

Zack Granite smacked a run-scoring triple in the seventh inning to propel the Red Wings to the win. John Ryan Murphy scored on the play after he reached base with a single.

Earlier in the frame, J.B. Shuck lofted a sacrifice fly to plate Tommy Field with the tying run, 1-1.

Rochester relief pitcher Ryan Pressly got Drew Dosch to hit into a forceout, with a runner on first, to end the game for his first save of the season.

In the bottom of the second, the Tides grabbed the lead on a solo home run by David Washington off Rochester starter Adam Wilk. He went 6 innings as he scattered 6 hits.

Ryan Eades (2-0) got the win for the Wings with three innings of scoreless, one-hit relief.

Rochester (25-26) returns to Frontier Field on Monday night at 7:05 to face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (31-22) in the first of a 3-game series.
