The RailRiders pull away late for a 9-3 victory over Rochester.

MOOSIC, PA. — The Rochester Red Wings continue to struggle against teams from Pennsyvania this season following a 9-3 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Tuesday night.

Dustin Fowler, Gleyber Torres, and Kyle Higashioka each collected 3 hits for the hosts.

Fowler tripled, doubled and singled, scoring twice runs while also driving in a pair. Torres singled 3 times with 2 RBI.

Trailing 4-0, the Red Wings cut into the deficit in half in the sixth inning when Niko Goodrum hit a solo home run and Leonardo Reginatto hit an RBI single.

Scranton/WB left-hander Caleb Smith (4-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Rochester starter Chris Heston (0-1) made his International League debut and allowed four runs and six hits over 2 1/3 innings.

For the Red Wings, Zack Granite doubled and singled twice.

With the win, Scranton/WB improved to 5-2 against Rochester this season.
