The Bisons take 2 of 3 from Rochester to thwart the Wings playoff drive.

The Rochester Red Wings stumbled once again as the Buffalo Bisons won the seesaw game, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Coca Cola Field in the Queen City. The 2-hour and 7-minute contest was the fastest at Coca-Cola Field this season.

Rochester took the lead in the second on a solo homer by rookie Daniel Palka, his 10th of the season.

In the fourth, rookie Adam Brett Walker belted his 25th round-tripper, a 2-run blast that put the Wings back in front, 3-2.

However, the Bisons regained the advantage once again in the home half with a pair of runs off starter, and former Bison, Andrew Albers (9-6). Buffalo’s bats got to Albers for all 4 runs on 11 hits – all singles – over 6 innings.

Buffalo is now 8-9 against Rochester this season and needs to win out in order to take the 2016 Thruway Cup. The two teams will tango twice more over the next two days, with a pair of 7:05 p.m. first-pitches at Frontier Field.

Rochester (68-57) dropped to 6 games behind Lehigh Valley (73-50) for the International League Wild Card berth.
