ByungHo Park’s single propels Rochester to a 5-4 win over the Bisons.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — ByungHo Park stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning, propelling the Rochester Red Wings to a 5-4 victory over the Buffalo Bisons on Thursday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field.
Zack Granite scored on the play after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Ehire Adrianza, who started his rehab assignment from the Minnesota Twins.
Rochester (42-35) won 3 of the 4-game series, and have won 13 of their last 15 games.
The Red Wings grabbed the lead in the fourth with 3 runs as Niko Goodrum doubled in the final 2 runs.
However, the Bisons tied the game with 3 runs in the home half.
Rochester regained the lead with a run in the a run in the seventh when former Bison Matt Hague ripped a 2-out double and scampered home on Mitch Garver’s double.
But once again the hosts tallied the tying run in the eighth.
Ryan Pressly (2-0) got the win in relief. Wings starter Chris Heston went 4.2 inning, yielding 3 runs on 6 hits, 5 walks and he struck ouit 3 hitters. John Curtiss retired the side in order for his first save of the season in the ninth.
With the win, Rochester improved to 10-4 against Buffalo this season.
