ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A pitcher’s duel was decided in extra innings Friday as the Rochester Red Wings fell, 2-1, in 10 innings to the Syracuse Mets at Frontier Field.
Wings starter Josh Rogers went 7 1/3 scoreless innings allowing just three hits and a walk.
His counterpart Josh Walker was just as good going seven scoreless allowing just one hit – a leadoff double to Blake Swihart in the first inning.
The game went scoreless into extra innings where the Mets plated a pair on RBI hits from Mike Cervenka and former Red Wing Wilfredo Tovar.
The Wings (32-45) couldn’t match, scoring just one on a Brandon Snyder RBI single.
