Rochester shut out over the last 10 innings after taking a 2-0 lead.

The Rochester Red Wings lost a heartbreaker in 13 innings to the Norfolk Tides, 3-2, on Wednesday night in Virginia.

The Wings grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third on a home run by Byron Buxton, his eighth of the season, with Wilfredo Tovar on base.

The Tides knotted the game in the 6th on a pair of runs off Rochester starter David Hurlbut. Jake Reed (0-1) took the loss.

Norfolk out-hit the Red Wings, 14-4.

Rochester (73-59) remained 4.5 games behind Lehigh Valley (77-54) in the hunt for the International League Wild Card berth with 11 games remaining in the regular season.

The Red Wings return to Frontier Field on Sunday, Aug. 28 to begin their final homestand of the season.
