Rochester loses 1-0 to the S-Mets.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Red Wings were blanked for a second straight game Sunday, losing 1-0 to the Syracuse Mets at Frontier Field.
The Wings’ scoreless streak now sits at 22 innings with their last run coming in the first inning in Game One of Saturday’s twinbill.
The Mets scored their lone run in the fifth inning. Starter Rogelio Armenteros allowed a two-out single to Sebastian Elizalde who then stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a bunt base hit by Nick Meyer for the game’s only run.
Kyle Lobstein (1 IP), Dakota Bacus (2 IP) and T.J. McFarland (1 IP) combined to toss four scoreless innings behind Armenteros to keep the Wings (6-18) in the game.
Adrian Sanchez picked up two of the four Rochester hits to up his average to a team-leading .320 on the season. Sanchez tried to ignite a rally in the ninth inning with a one out single but a strike him out, throw him out double play ended the game.
After an off day on Monday, the Red Wings embark on a two-week road trip with the first stop in Worcester on Tuesday night.
