The right-handed pitcher will travel to Dodger Stadium to represent the Nationals mid-July.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Red Wings right-handed pitcher Cade Cavalli has been named to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game roster. The 23-year old will travel to Dodger Stadium for the July 16 contest. This marks Cavalli’s second Futures Game selection, having represented the Nationals organization in Colorado in 2021.
Cavalli ranks tied for third in Washington’s Minor League system with 68 strikeouts. He is 3-0 with a 2.31 ERA (10 ER/39.0 IP), 41 strikeouts and a .182 opponents’ batting average in his last seven starts. Last night against Lehigh Valley, Cavalli retired the first 17 batters he faced en route to 7.0 innings of two-hit, shutout ball. In that start, he struck out seven batters without issuing a walk. In 14 starts for Triple-A Rochester, Cavalli is 4-3 with a 4.54 ERA, 9.1 K/9, and a 62% strike rate.
In his first full season at the Triple-A level, Cavalli is Washington’s top prospect according to Baseball America, FanGraphs, and MLBPipeline.com. He is rated by FanGraphs as the No. 28 prospect, Baseball America as the No. 35 prospect, and by MLBPipeline.com as the No. 48 prospect in all of baseball.
The seven-inning American vs. National League game will take place at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. ET. The contest will be broadcasted live on Peacock and SiriusXM, with MLB Network producing the telecast and re-airing the game starting at 8:30 p.m. ET.
