SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Rochester Red Wings shut out the Syracuse Mets, 8-0, in Saturday evening’s matchup thanks to top notch performances from Jake Noll, Luis Garcia, and Joey Meneses.

The win marks Rochester’s fifth shutout of the season.

Both Meneses and Noll tallied two runs in three at bats, accounting for four of Rochester’s eight runs scored. Garcia chipped in two runs in four at bats.

Starting pitcher Cade Cavalli had a career outing, throwing six strikeouts and holding the Mets scoreless through seven innings. He gave up only two hits, which would be the only two Syracuse tallied all game.

The bullpen went only two men deep, as Sam Clay and Matt Cronin gave up zero runs and zero hits through two.

Richard Urena secured four RBI and tallied a hit en route to a one-sided smacking of the Mets.

The Red Wings have won four of their last five games, giving them a commanding 4-1 series lead over Syracuse with one game remaining.

RHP Logan Verrett will hit the mound first for the Wings in Sunday evening’s 6:35 p.m. matchup against the Mets.
