ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Red Wings won their third straight game Friday night, 3-2, over the Worcester Red Sox at Frontier Field.
Rochester’s offense came courtesy of three solo home runs – Luis Garcia and Carter Kieboom hit solo shots in the first inning and Yadiel Hernandez hit the go-ahead blast in the third inning.
Sterling Sharp picked up the win despite allowing seven hits and six walks over his five innings of work.
Nick Wells, Bryan Bonnell, and T.J. McFarland combine to toss four scoreless innings of relief behind Sharp.
Garcia’s homer was his fifth leadoff homer of the season, his fourth in the last three games and his team-leading 11th blast on the year.
The Wings look for a season-high fourth straight win Saturday night at Frontier Field.
