Rochester rallies to win the second game after losing the first game in extra innings.

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The Rochester Red Wings came close to sweeping a double header from the Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday at McCoy Stadium.

The Red Wings held a 1-0 lead entering the bottom of the seventh in the first game, but the hosts tied evened the score, 1-1, then won it with a walk-off homer in the eighth.

Yohan Pino (0-4) had a no-hitter entering the seventh, but allowed two runs and four hits over the final inning and two-thirds. He also struck out three and walked two.

Jantzen Witte smacked the solo homer to win the game for the PawSox.

For the Red Wings, ByungHo Park reached base three times.

In Game 2, the Wings tallied twice in the top of the first, but the PawSox responded with a grand slam by to forge ahead.

The lead, however, was short-lived as the visitors from the Empire State answered with 5 runs in the second to take control of the game.

J.B. Shuck hit a two-run homer in the second inning, and Tommy Field hit a two-run home run and had two hits for the Red Wings. Shuck’s homer came in the midst of the 5-run uprising and gave the Rochester a 5-4 lead. Later in the rally, Field blasted another two-run homer.

Wings’ starter Matt Tracy (2-0) picked up the win despite allowing 5 runs and 5 hits over 5 innings.

Rochester (30-33) is 5-2 on the season against Pawtucket (34-30) this season.

*NOTES — In roster moves: LHP Mason Melotakis was transferred from Double-A Chattanooga to Rochester; RHP Ryan Pressly was optioned from Minnesota to Rochester; LHP Adam Wilk’s contract was selected by Minnesota; RHP Alex Wimmers was recalled by Minnesota (26th man for DH); and RHP Chris Heston was outrighted to Rochester on June 16…The series with Pawtucket concludes on Sunday with another double-header.
