The City of Rochester plans to launch a bike share network for downtown and surrounding neighborhoods this spring, and the group Reconnect Rochester says it’s completed crowdsourcing funds for two of the new bike stations.

The group has raised about $18,000 for bike stations on Adams Street in Corn Hill and on Hudson Avenue in the Upper Falls Neighborhood.

City Hall says the initial rollout will be in downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. They want about two-dozen bike docking stations and 250 bikes which can be borrowed by residents and visitors, and returned to the most convenient station.

Each station costs about $9,000.
