The Rochester City School District is considering a move for the Early College International High School from Genesee Street to the Charlotte High School campus.

The District says the school for high-achieving students has outgrown its space in the old Madison High building, which it shares with the Wilson Foundation Academy. Wilson is due to expand to grades K-through-8 and take over all three floors of the building.

The district wants to put Early College International at the downtown MCC campus because many of its students are taking MCC classes, but they haven’t been able to work it out. The district is now looking at Charlotte, where Early College would share space with the Leadership Academy For Young Men. The concern is that a majority of students live on the south side, which means a long bus ride to Charlotte.

No decision has been made yet.
