Rochester wins its 12th game with a 109-96 win over the Jackals.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester RazorSharks played their final regular season home game of the 2017 season with a 109-96 victory over the Jamestown Jackals on Thursday night at the Blue Cross Arena.

The remainder of the season could prove to be a bit more difficult as the Sharks (12-2) conclude the campaign with a 4-game road trip.

The Sharks shot lights out right from the start as Melvin Council hit three treys from behind the arc, and Corey Allmond sank two of his own in the first five minutes of the game. Rochester’s 19-4 run was very impressive, with everyone moving the ball very efficiently, creating open shots for the sharpshooters. Allmond had 4 assists in the first quarter, leading for both teams.

The Jackals had trouble maintaining possession as they committed 7 turnovers in the first quarter, and did not improve as the game progressed. At the end of one, Rochester owned a 29-18 lead.

The second quarter was slightly better for the Jackals, but they still managed to turn the ball over 10 more times. Heading into halftime, their 17 turnovers was clearly the major issue, but poor shooting did not help either. They still managed to keep the deficit within range at the half, 48-31.

In the third stanza, Jamestown was able to keep improving on its scoring margin. This was by far their best period protecting the ball, only turning it over 4 times, but they were still allowing too many points. TheShakrs outscored the visitors, 36-33, in the period.

Despite 8 more turnovers to finish the game, Jamestown had its best quarter of the night, outscoring the Sharks 33-25. Jordan Bowling caught fire and hit a series of three-pointers, bringing the Jackals back into it. He had 7 total for the night for 23 points, but it still was not enough.

Rochester’s Corey Allmond was the John Betlem Heating and Cooling Player of the Game with 21 points, including four 3-pointers, and 7 assists. He also contributed a couple steals. Jerice Crouch scored 18 points and dished out 4 assists in his record-tying 186th game for Rochester.
Jordan Railey was a force in the paint, scoring 15 points while pulling down 8 rebounds. He also block ed 5 shots. Deverell Biggs had a great night with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists. Dele Coker also grabbed 8 boards in addition to his 12 points.
