Rochester swamps the Washington Warhawks in their 2nd game of the season.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — After Saturday’s game in Providence was cancelled due to inclement weather, the Rochester RazorSharks came out hot in their second game of the season, dominating the Washington Warhawks 122-59 on Sunday at the Blue Cross Arena.

The 59 points allowed is the lowest total that the RazorSharks have ever given up in one game, beating the previous low of 63. The game remained close for most of the first quarter, but the Warhawks began struggling and started missing some open shots. Rochester was able to take advantage immediately and established a 26-11 lead by the end of the first period.

That same theme seemed to apply for the remaining three quarters, as Washington simply could not get anything to fall. They shot an abysmal 23% from the field on 92 shots. They also struggled to contain the rotation of big men Rochester put out on the court.

The star of the game for the RazorSharks was local college standout, John Ivy, out of SUNY Brockport. Ivy put up 23 points, hitting 8-of-11 shots, including 6-of-8 three-pointers. He also pulled down two rebounds and recorded two steals. He was the game’s leading scorer and is clearly developing into a fan favorite.

James Helton followed him with 14 points, while Corey Allmond had 12, and Rashard McGill had 11. Dominic Woodson had a nice game with 9 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocks. McGill and rookie, Deverell Biggs, led the way with 5 assists each. Sidney Holmes also had 3 steals.

The Sharks play their next game on Thursday, Jan. 12, at home against the Providence Sky Chiefs. Tipoff at the Blue Cross Arena will be 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at the box office, or you can call the office at 585-232-9190.
