The Kentucky Thouroughbreds used 21-point performances by De Angelo Stewart and Corey Wilford to hold on for a key, 106-101 road win at Rochester Thursday night as North American Premier Basketball (NAPB) play rang in the month of March.
Kentucky (6-8) won for only the second time in its last 10 games and got 16 points from John Murray, 12 more points from Jody Hill and 11 points and 11 rebounds from Darius Leonard.
“We had good balance tonight up and down the lineup that we’ve been looking for,” Kentucky head coach Brandon Lesovsky said. “Corey made some really huge shots for us when things got stagnant late in the game and then we got some stops when we needed to. They’re a much improved team from earlier in the year so it was definitely a quality win for us and one that was much needed.”
Rochester (6-13), was led by Matt Hart (30 points) and Vance Cooksey (23 points).
