The team returns to Rhinos Stadium after a 2-year hiatus of playing elsewhere.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced that the team will play its 2017 home games at Rhinos Stadium.
“We are excited to have Major League Lacrosse and the Rochester Rattlers return to the stadium they previously called home for over 10 years,” Rochester Rhinos owners David and Wendy Dworkin said in statement to league. “The Rattlers will bring additional excitement and their loyal fan base to one of the premier outdoor entertainment venues in western New York.”
Rochester will play its 2017 home opener on Thursday, May 11 against the Charlotte Hounds. The Rattlers also will face Florida, Chesapeake, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, and Ohio at Rhinos Stadium this year.
The 13,000-seat venue hosted Rattlers games between 2006 and 2015. It also hosted the 2007 MLL Championship Game in which the Philadelphia Barrage earned the Steinfeld Trophy with a 16-13 win over the Los Angeles Riptide.
