Rookie Zed Williams scores the game-winner in OT as Rochester edges the Chesapeake Bayhawks, 17-16.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Rattlers (4-3) won their first home game of the season, 17-16, over the Chesapeake Bayhawks in overtime. It marked their second consecutive victory.

Rookie Zed Williams (Virginia) scored two goals, including the game winner in overtime and he was named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game.

The Rattlers led 5-1 after the first quarter, and held a 7-3 advantage at intermission.

However, the Bayhawks erupted for 8 goals in the third period while holding the Rattlers to four. Both teams scored 5 goal in the fourth quarter.

Jeremy Boltus (Army) finished the game with five goals to pace the Rattlers. Rookie Eric Fannell (Ohio State) scored three goals in his Rattlers debut. Rookie Ryan McNamara (Marquette) scored one goal in his debut.

Rattlers goalie John Galloway recorded 17 saves in earning the win.

Rochester next plays at the New York Lizards on Saturday, June 17.
