Irondequoit native Joe Walters keys the Lizards come-from-behind win over Rochester.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The New York Lizards acquired Joe Walters from the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the offseason, and the Irondequoit native came through against his hometown Rochester Rattlers on Saturday night at Hofstra University.

Walters paced the Lizards with a game-high 6 points on 4 goals and 2 assists. The University of Marland graduate scored the tying goal and assisted on the game-winner in the fourth quarter.

Jordan Wolf paced the Rattlers with 5 points on 3 goals and 2 assists. John Ranagan also tallied a hat trick as he added 1 assist for a 4-point night.

The other goal scorers for Rochester included: Jeremy Boltus (2), Zed Williams (2), Penfield native Kyle Denhoff (1), and Ryan McNamara (1). Ned Crotty added 1 assist.

Rattlers goalie John Galloway finished with 8 saves on 21 shots.

The loss dropped Rochester to 4-4 on the season as New York improved to 3-4.

TheRattlers return to Capelli Sport Stadium next Saturday at 7:30 pm to take on the Atlanta Blaze.
