Rochester gets JoJo Marasco in exchange for 2017 1st-round draft pick.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Rattlers cquired midfielder JoJo Marasco from the New York Lizards in exchange for the Rattlers’ first-round selection in the 2017 MLL Collegiate Draft, the fourth pick overall.
Marasco, 25, is entering his fifth professional season. The Syracuse University product registered 17 points (13 goals, 4 assists) in 14 games for New York last season, the third-most points among Lizards midfielders. Marasco scored a career-high 22 goals in 2014 and matched that with another 22-goal season in 2015. During New York’s run to the 2015 MLL Championship, he tallied 4 goals and 3 assists in two postseason games. The Lizards selected the Mt. Kisco, N.Y., native in the fifth round (37th overall) of the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft.
The fourth overall selection will be New York’s only pick in the first four rounds of the draft after previously trading away each of its first four draft picks.
