Rochester police are investigating after racist graffiti, making use of the “N” word, was found scrawled in chalk on the pavement of the Rochester Skatepark downtown.

Mayor Malik Evans spoke out against racist graffiti after the slur was found, and said the city has seen an increase in murals at the skatepark being vandalized over the past month. He called the responsible parties “sick” and said they’re spreading discord in the community. He said it won’t be tolerated.

The graffiti was removed, and the mayor says patrols and surveillance around the park are being increased.
