The latest Quinnipiac Poll finds an issue specific to New York City has pulled down governor Andrew Cuomo’s approval ratings: handling of mass transit.
The new poll gives cuomo a 46-to-38 percent job approval rating, down from 52-31 percent in March. The governor continues to have low approval numbers upstate, 37-to-48 negative, and his New York City numbers dropped after a series of bus and subway service problems in the New York City metro this spring.
A majority of Democrats still think the governor is doing at least OK. But poll director Maurice Carroll says Republicans disapprove 64-to-26 percent.
As a whole, New Yorkers give President trump a 63-to-29 percent disapproval rating…four points better than in March.
