storm-3-12-14-at-strongThe New York State Public Service Commission says it’s got some good news for the coming winter. It crunches the numbers each fall and comes up with a prediction for winter heating bills…and it says prices this winter should be lower than the five-year historical average.

That means some relief for consumers if the Farmer’s Almanac is right and a hard winter is coming.

The PSC says even though natural gas and electricity rates will be lower, your bill will probably still be higher because last winter was way warmer than normal. Even so, you’ll still be paying less than average.
