The Buffalo Bills have a date with the New York Jets on Sunday. Many expected it to be a battle of rookie quarterbacks.
Buffalo’s Josh Allen might play and he’s recovering from an elbow injury. New York’s Sam Darnold’s health is going in the opposite direction after suffering a foot strain.
However, the two rookies will be a combined storyline for years to come and there’s already one player who’s connected to both, Terrelle Pryor.
After starting the season with the Jets (3-6), Pryor signed with the Bills (2-7) last week. This week Allen returned to practice and might make his first start with Pryor after missing the last three games.
“(Allen’s) a baller,” Pryor said about his first practice with Allen to the media on Thursday.
Having spent time with the pair of first-round rookie QBs, Pryor compared the two and said they both handle the quarterbacking duties as an NFL quarterback well for being rookies.
“The thing about Josh, when he gets in the huddle, he gains respect,” Pryor said. “I think it’s spectacular with how young he is with how he handled the huddle. it was pretty amazing to me. He’s kind of like Sam Darnold. Those two are very close in terms of that.”
