The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a Rochester man is being held as a predicate felon after he slashed a security guard with a knife at the Henrietta Walmart this week.

They say 64-year-old Johnny Lee Greggs was trying to shoplift a cart of merchandise from the store when he was confronted by an employee. They say Greggs pulled out a knife and slashed the man in the face before fleeing with his stolen merchandise.

Deputies found him before he got away from the store and arrested him. He’s charged with robbery, burglary, assault, petit larceny, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Greggs is being held in jail.
