RG&E has essentially completed the job of restoring power lost Sunday during the windstorm. The company reports only about 10 hard-to-reach customers to be restored as of Tuesday morning.
National Grid reports 98 percent service restoration Tuesday morning, out of nearly 88,000 customers who lost power in the harder-hit areas to the west of the Rochester Region. They have nearly 1,500 customers in the Northern Erie and Niagara Falls areas still waiting for service restoration.
Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo is praising RG&E’s response to this storm, in comparison with the March Windstorm two years ago that left thousands in the dark for up to a week.
