Rochester Gas and Electric has restored two-thirds of the power outages caused by yesterday afternoon’s sudden thunderstorms and high winds. It’s now about 8,000 customers out across the Rochester region, down from 24,000 at the worst.
The fast-moving cold front caused a wind gust of 63 miles per hour at the Rochester airport and brought down numerous trees and branches, many on power lines but some also on homes and cars across the entire area.
