The Bills won’t be changing their footing much in the power rankings this upcoming weekend, but entering their bye, Buffalo is coming off a 14-7 win over the Titans.

With another win under their belt, the 4-1 Bills are even inching closer to top-five consideration to some.

With that, here’s how national outlets ranked the Bills in their Week 6 power rankings:

USA Today

No. 8 Buffalo Bills

Previous rank: No. 11

No team west of Foxborough playing better defense. With three in a row at home after bye, they could easily extend start to 7-1.

6. Buffalo Bills

(4-1. Last week: 7)

The Bills are 4-1? Yes, it’s a real thing. And it’s no fluke. They’ve only come up short against the Patriots, they have road wins against the Jets, Giants and Titans, and their defense is one of the NFL’s best. Quarterback Josh Allen is developing nicely as more than a running quarterback, and this has become an ideal team for its city — a tough, wily bunch with the ability to outpunch just about anybody. With a bye coming up in Week 6, Sean McDermott’s team has a lot to be proud of — and a virtual second bye against the Dolphins in Week 7.

Yahoo! Sports

9. Buffalo Bills (4-1, LW: 10)

One thing to keep in mind: rookie running back Devin Singletary should be a difference-maker for the offense when he gets healthy. He has missed three games in a row. The Bills don’t need a ton of offensive punch either; this defense is really good.

Sports Illustrated

11. BUFFALO BILLS (4-1)

Previous rank: 18
Points in poll: 173
Highest-place vote: 9 (1 voter)
Lowest-place vote: 14 (1 voter)
Last week’s result: Beat Tennessee, 14-7
This week: Bye

Win ugly seems to be the M.O. for Sean McDermott. The defense is no joke (252 total yards allowed on Sunday) but the offense might be (25 overall).

NBC Sports

8. Bills (4-1; No. 9): The second best team in the AFC East is the best third best team in the AFC.

CBS Sports

7. Bills

Previous rank: No. 9

At 4-1, they are starting to have that playoff feel about them. That defense is outstanding and will keep them in a lot of games.

ESPN

10. Buffalo Bills (4-1)

Week 5 ranking: 12

Surprise fantasy player: Frank Gore, RB

We probably shouldn’t be surprised at this point, but Gore continues to produce in his 15th season. In the three games Devin Singletary has missed with a hamstring injury, Gore has averaged 81.7 rushing yards and 5.4 yards per carry. That being said, his touches likely will decrease once Singletary returns, so Gore isn’t likely to hit the 1,066 rushing yards that he is on pace for.

Sporting News

12. Buffalo Bills, 4-1 (13)

The Bills almost took down the Patriots with defense last week, and they took out their frustration on the Titans to win an expected battle of attrition. Imagine now if they can ever get Josh Allen cranking as a passer.

Bleacher Report

11. Buffalo Bills (4-1)

High: 7

Low: 14

Last Week: 14

Week 5 Result: Won at Tennessee 14-7

The Buffalo Bills have a better record than the Los Angeles Rams. And the Chicago Bears. And the Los Angeles Chargers. And the Dallas Cowboys.

Five weeks into the season, that may be the biggest surprise of the 2019 campaign.

The Bills aren’t piling up style points—or points at all, for that matter. Sunday’s win over the Titans was the third time this year that Buffalo failed to score 20 points, and the second game in a row in which it scored fewer than 15.

But thanks to a defense that ranks second in the NFL in both total defense and pass defense and sixth in points allowed, Josh Allen and the Bills don’t have to score a lot to win games.

The Bills have plenty to be happy about as the team heads into its bye week, and they may have even more coming out of it.

In Week 7, the Bills get the winless Dolphins.

10. Bills (4-1)

Previous rank: No. 11

The voracious Bills defense was at it again on Sunday in Nashville, pounding Marcus Mariota for four quarters in a 14-7 win over the Titans. Buffalo sacked the Tennessee starting quarterback five times, despite the return of Titans Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan from suspension. (The Bills weren’t impressed.) Tennessee converted just four third downs in 14 attempts and managed just 252 total yards. This type of dominance is starting to become a weekly thing for the Bills under head coach Sean McDermott and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. Josh Allen escaped from concussion protocol and made enough plays while avoiding a killer turnover. Buffalo is built to win games 14-7. It’s unlikely to be the last time.
