It’s School Budget and school board election day for suburban districts around Rochester. For most districts, the polls are open through 9:00 p.m.
In the Greece Central School District, voters are looking at a $225,091,000 budget that keeps the increase under the state two percent tax cap at 1.86 percent. The increase in spending over the current year’s budget is also less than two percent at 1.74. The estimated tax rate is $24,29 per thousand dollars of assessed value.
There are also three propositions on the ballot: to buy up to 25 replacement school buses for $2.4 million, to establish a Bus Purchase Capital Fund for future replacements and to provide personal voter registration during business hours.
Voters must also decide on four of six candidates for Greece School Board. Sean McCabe and William Maloney are seeking re-election. John Siwicki, Tracey Farmer, Lloyd Ruffle III and Mary Caitlin Wright are seeking election for the first time.
