A new Siena Poll finds last week’s failure by House Republicans to pass their American Health Care Act is seen as a victory by a majority of New York voters.
The poll finds New Yorkers were opposed to the ACHA 56-27 percent as a replacement for President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. An even bigger margin, 67-30 percent, favor keeping and improving Obamacare over repeal and replace.
Not surprisingly, Democrats and Independents are strongly opposed to the Trumpcare bill. A two-thirds majority of New York’s Republicans support the Republican health plan and say “repeal and replace.”
President Trump’s favorability with all New Yorkers is now a negative 33-63 percent.
