Rochester Police say the department will pay out $47,648 (and 24 cents) for overtime pay as a result of last Friday’s Black Lives Matter protests in Rochester.
Police brought more than 100 officers downtown before the decision was made to disperse the demonstrators late Friday night and early Saturday morning. The department says today they’ve worked that out to nearly 825 hours of police overtime.
The say the 47-thousand-dollars-plus doesn’t cover benefits or other expenses.
